2/72 Hill House
Detached house, perhaps originally a weavers' cottage. Early C18, gabled wing
to right, in same plane, probably Cl9. Squared and coursed limestone, with
smaller units in top storey, perhaps raised over original; concrete tile or
slate roof. Main block is near-symmetrical 3-storey, 3 windows; at ground
floor, under continuous hood-mould raised over the doorway, two 3-light recessed
chamfer casements, first floor has 3:2:3-light the same, to separate hoods, and
immediately below eaves are two small 2-light chamfer mullion lights. Central
plank door to Tudor head and deep lintel. Gable stacks. Attached right, gable
to road, a 2-storey unit with, in gable, a 3-light wood casement below wood
lintel, over a continuous wood lintel to an 8-pane fixed light and pair of
garage doors. Further garage door in lean-to to right. Central lay-light to
