Formerly the George Inn, now house. Late C17. Coursed and squared limestone,
concrete tile roof: two storeys and attic with 2-light recessed chamfer mullion
casements and stopped hoods to pair of coped gables, above two 3-light ovolo-
mould casements to stopped drips. Ground floor has a 2-light chamfer mullion
and a 3-light the same, separated by a C20 door and hood; interrupting what was
originally a continuous moulded string. Large stack to right, in brick. The
gable, left has a single recessed chamfer light over a blocked 2-light, both to
stopped hoods; to left of blocked opening a C19 wood casement; at ground floor a
blocked large opening under wood lintel, now with small C19 casement. Once
known as the George Inn, this building is backed by The Gables (q.v.) and Thorne
(q.v.), both in Friday Street.
