Detached house. C17. Squared and coursed limestone, stone slate roof. Cross
passage house, possibly with right end added later, but consistent detail, two
stacks, one at left gable. Two storeys, attic, and part cellar. Two and 1
windows, two 3-light chamfered mullion casements, with continuous string over
ground floor windows, formerly stepped over door, now modified; at ground floor
a 2-light chamfered mullion casement with stepped hood, and a hipped dormer with
4-light casement far left. Between -light casements plank door in chamfered
surround with later gabled canopy. To left is single storey garage extension.
Right return has 2, over 2 over 3-light casements with stepped hoods, and
2-light without hood to basement; back includes a 3-light casement, and left
return a 2-light recessed chamfer casement. Interior has stone flagged through-
way, various chamfered and stopped beams, and good panelled fielded doors; at
first floor some plank doors may be C17. A-frame roof with two purlins and some
original rafters. Spiral stair. Large bressummer fire ground floor, right, and
two good stone fireplaces with moulded overmantels at first floor.
