PAINSWICK GREENHOUSE LANE
SO 8609/8709
(off west side)
7/112 Brooklands Close
II
Detached house. C17. Squared and coursed limestone rubble, concrete tile
roof. A 3-storey gabled unit with, to left, a lower 1½ storey cross-gabled
wing, and an attached flat roofed extension which is not of special interest.
The cross-gable has a 2-light recessed chamfer stone mullioned casement with
hood over a steel French door; main gable, right has similar 2-light casements
at 3 levels. Right return is 3 windowed: at ground floor a 2-light and door to
a common stepped hood, and a further 2-light. At first floor two 2-lights with
hoods, central bay blank, and to eaves are three 2-light, all of these recessed
chamfer-mullion stone casements. Front away from stream has 2-light casement
over a plain oculus and a large brick stack; in the small cross-gable a 2 over a
3-light, and a single light, formerly a doorway. The interior has been
substantially modified, but there are some beams to run-out stops.
