4.11.87 Barns to west of Holcombe
Two barns forming a T. Said to have date 1709. Coursed limestone rubble, stone
stone slate roof; but some corrugated asbestos. Earlier barn is at right angles
to farmhouse (qv) in 4 bays with deep porch to north having a boarded gable over
full-height opening; collar and the roof with 3 butt purlins. At right angles,
parallel with farmhouse, later barn has door in chamfered surround near the
south end, and 9 steps up to plank door in gabled entry; one 2-light recessed
transfer mullioned casement with stopped hood also at south end. Important as
group with the farmhouse, with which the earlier part of the barn may be
