Spring Cottage
Detached house. Late C18/early C19. Limestone ashlar facade, coursed and
squared, or rubble other fronts; stone slate roof, concrete tile on outshut at
back. Two storeys and attic, 3 windows; 12-pane sashes with slightly over-
square panes, central glazed door in C20 gabled porch. Left return has 2-light
casement to attic, back has 2-light dormer above large lean-to extension. Small
gable stack left, and larger external stack to gable right. This cottage is
paired with Painswick Mill Cottage (qv) of which it is a mirror image, and was
probably to house staff associated with the mill, opposite.
