GV II

Sarcophagus monument. To Joseph Cooke, 1828. Sandstone and limestone. Steeply
hipped top carrying bold inscriptions, set on a chest with battered sides on a
cyma base; all on a stone platform contained by weathered curb, formerly
railed. The sandstone cap has a palmette cyma frieze; the chest is in limestone
on sandstone base. Joseph Cooke was aged 77. A late monument, of an unusual
form for this churchyard, in good condition.
