8/321 Shoestring Cottage
Small house in row. Probably late C17, but with C18 and C19 modifications.
Building is set back from adjoining property to left and attached to Tumut (qv)
with which it may have formed a pair, but has had a rebuilt front. Cut and
squared limestone, concrete tile-roof. Two storeys, attic and cellar, one
window; at ground floor a canted oriel with C20 casement under hipped stone
slate roof, and set over a cellar acces with wooden hatch access. First floor
has a 12-pane sash in flat stone surround, and to roof a 3-light C20 gabled
dormer. Loft is 6-panel door, 4 of these glazed, up 3 steps. Included for
group, value primarily. Formerly known as Frith View.
