Anglican parish church. Late C19. John Drayton Wyatt, at principal cost
of Emma Dent of Sudeley Castle. Squared yellow limestone, flush cream lime-
stone dressings, stone slate roof to coped gables at west end and at chancel
junction, cross terminals. Nave, chancel with hexagonal east end and five
gablets over windows, south transept, south tower over porch, vestry; all
in mid to late C13 style, and consistent. Tower in three stages plus octa-
gonal spire, doorway in 3 orders with plain chamfered responds, 2-light
cusped plate window over string, clock in square face set diagonally, octa-
gonal spire base stage with offset buttresses on four non-cardinal points
and lancets with trefoil heads and quatrefoil drips with leaf stops, moulded
cornice at spire base. Windows generally paired lancets with trefoil heads
under drips, and in apse lancets with trefoil heads under trefoil openings.
West end has two 2-light under sexfoil in plate, with central shaft, all
under simple stepped string. Porch inner doors with five decorative strap
hinges. Interior: scissors plus collar roof nave, rich arch-braced to chan-
cel, tiled floors. Short shafts on brackets support moulded chancel arch,
and left in chancel is flat open arch to vestry. Original fittings gener-
ally in situ.
