(east side)
1/105
Oak Cottage
-
- II

Barn, now a house. C17, but majority of property rebuilt in late C20.
One timber framed wall, remainder in rubble limestone, concrete tile roof.
The north-east wall is simple unbraced box framing with plaster panels with
plate set to stone plinth, 3 intermediate rails and eaves plate with alternative
main and subsidiary verticals in 8 'bays', and an extension to left in facsimile;
wall contains 3 top hang lights at eaves level, and two 3-light casements
below. Property listed for the framed wall, remnant of an earlier complete
building, this wall is a striking element, set well back and up from the
street, but worthy of retention.
