Pair of gates, supporting standards, and flanking railings. C18. Cast and
wrought iron. Pair of wide gates rising to decorative centre, flanked by
heavy iron supporting standards with interstitial and terminal wrought
decoration, and flanked each side by railings c 1.6 metres high and exten-
ding c 2 metres right or left. Verticals to spear-head terminals, and the
whole a good example of the designer's art in the medium. The road, now
a minor side route, was until the mid C20 part of the main Cheltenham to
Stratford route past the entrance to Postlip Hall (qv).
