Barn and former stable. Early C17, extended early C19: late C20.
Brick-nogged timber framing to barn, weatherboarded framing to
lean-to; squared, coursed stone to stable to road, back wall and
gable English-bond brickwork, tiled roof. Three-bay barn, single-
storey, lofted stable, 2-bay lean-to. To road: framing 3 panels
high to eaves, angle brace corner post to wallplate: double
boarded doors in centre to eaves, each in 2 halves. Lean-to on
left, open on right end: stone rear wall of stable hidden by lean-
to. Right return timber-framed, curved braces main posts to rail,
boarded door to pitching hole below tie beam; collar over: upper
part gable weatherboarded. Lean-to not of special interest. Left
return, lean-to on right, boarded doors: barred window to lower
floor, boarded door upper, both with cambered brick arches.
Interior: cambered tie-beam to trusses, curved braces to main
posts; angled struts to collar, 2 pairs purlins, curved wind-
braces to upper set over threshing floor only; plank ridge. Rear
wall barn rebuilt 1970's in concrete block, retaining some main
timbers.
