4/4 Mill House at Northway Mill
House. Possibly C17, altered C19. Blue lias plinth, repaired in
brick at front. Exterior mainly rendered, possibly concealing some
timber framing. Left gable end and small area of facade coursed
squared and dressed limestone. Red tile roof, brick stacks, one
rendered. Rectangular plan to main body. Four-windowed facade.
Four 2-light C19 steel casements with horizontal glazing bars and
original handles to first floor, two similar 3-light steel
casements with hoodmoulds and beaded inner moulding over ground
floor windows. Double, studded plank door off-centre right within
roll-moulded C14 pointed-arched surround (probably reused from a
house known as Carrant's Place). Two angels holding undecorated
shields with flat hood above, reused in upper part of right gable
end. Single storey C19 extension with brick dentil cornice at
right angles to main body towards left gable end. Flat coping at
gable ends of main body. Roll-cross saddle at left gable end.
Stack at right gable end and lateral stack. Interior not
