10/72 Hill Court and adjoining
Large detached house, now converted into flats. Early-mid C19.
Rendered brick now painted. Slate roof with rendered stacks.
Basically rectangular plan. Three storeys and basement.
Symmetrical, 3-windowed facade. Tripartite, 2-pane sashes to
ground floor within surrounds set in relief to remainder of facade.
Superimposed pilasters either side of window with plain entablature
above with pendants at either end. Flat-chamfered quoins ether
side of windows. Sashes with horizontal glazing bars and moulded
and lugged architraves. Wide pilasters either side of windows
linking moulded cornices above ground and first-floor windows.
Six-pane sashes to upper floor. Moulded cornice with console
brackets. Central projecting flat-roofed porch with round-headed
entrance arch with keystone decorated with a carved lion's head and
pierced parapet with crown of laurels at centre. Decorative
wrought-iron flower boxes to ground floor windows of right-hand
return. Band decorated with spiral wrought-iron flower below eaves
of right-hand return. Interior not inspected. Stone balustrade
with decorative urns at intervals runs along the right-hand
boundary of the property.
