Barn. Late C16-mid C17, partly rebuilt 1810. Weatherboarded
squared-panelled timber framing on a coursed squared and dressed
limestone plinth, coursed squared and dressed gable ends; red tile
roof. Rectangular plan with a projecting porch; lean-to
extensions with swept roof on the south, further lean-to at the
east gable-end. South side: projecting gabled porch without front
off-centre left; lean-tos either side; two sets of double doors
and a shuttered pitching window on the north side. Ventilation
slit with Celtic style carved head above at the east gable end.
The west gable end was partially rebuilt in small coursed squared
and dressed limestone as indicated by a datestone with inscription
'J. CLARK / BUILDER / 1810'; 3 ventilation slits. Interior: 6
bays with the original roof trusses with tie-beams supported on
diagonal struts; double purlins raking struts to collar beam.
Some tiles off roof, but timber framing sound at time of re-survey,
(January 1987).
