Former farmhouse. C17; mid C19 and C20. Coursed squared and
dressed limestone; stone slate roof; ashlar stacks and rendered
stacks. 'L'-shaped plan to the early range, small C20 lean-to
extension to gable end; mid C19 Gothick style extension in angle
forming a rectangular overall plan. Two storeys and attic. Two-
windowed east-facing elevation with two 3-light double-chamfered
stone-mullioned casements to the ground floor, similar 2-light
casements to the first floor. Gable end, facing lane with two C17
single-light casements and one C20 single-light steel casement; 2-
light stone-mullioned casement to the C19 extension to the left.
South-facing elevation with gable to the right has double-chamfered
3-light stone-mullioned casement and late C18 three-light
segmental-headed casement to the ground floor. Single similar
casement; 3-light C19 casement and two single-light C20 casements
to the first floor; C20 two-light casement to gable. Early 2-
light roof dormer. Central C20 plank door within an early 3-
centred arched surround. Early single-light casement cut from a
single stone probably forming the former access to interior on
interior dovecote (see interior) to the gable end. Gable of C19
extension to the left with 2-light windows with Gothick glazing and
some diamond leaded panes, to the ground and first floors.
Stepped gable-end coping with roll-cross saddles. Axial and
gable-end stacks.
Interior: two open fireplaces with bressumer beams; exposed beams
with triangular and moulded stops; dovecote in attic with stone-
lined pigeon holes on 2 sides and wooden nesting boxes with round-
headed entrances divides the nesting area from the rest of the
attic; early floor to dovecote comprising stoves and mortar-like
infill between.
