Circa 1830 terrace. Three storeys and basement. Stuccoed with rusticated
ground floors. Slate roofs. Cornice and blocking course. Each house has
3 windows, the first floor windows having cornice moulding on consoles. Central
doors. Nos 18 and 21 are slightly recessed. Nos 19 and 20 have pilasters
at the angles. All houses except Nos 21 and 22 have doors with rectangular
fanlights over. Nos 21 and 22 have deeply recessed doors with niches in slightly
splayed reveals. Thin iron work connecting bollards in front. Colonel Clarke
F.R.S., who determined the figure of the earth, lived in No 21 between 1861
and 1881.
