C15, C16, C17. 2 storeyed L-shaped timber framed structure of 2 phases, the
earlier being a medieval hall of 2 bays with a cross wing at the south end,
to which is attached (at the south) a long east-west range of the later period.
Red tile roof, ½-hipped at the north end. Massive timber-frame with arched
braces, and jettied 1st floor to the cross wing (on the east side) and a jettied
gable and 1st floor at the west end of the later wing. Infilling of red brick-
work (English bond) and some brick walling with blue headers (Flemish bond).
Irregular fenestration, with leaded casements, several being old. Modern old
style door with side windows, and a C18 panelled door on the west end. Inside,
the massive fireplace is an insertion, and contains on the ground-floor a large
stone fireplace with a moulded frame, and at one end a ½ column with cap
supporting corbelled stones (a fragment of C13 work said to have come from
Christchurch Castle): on the 1st floor a stone fireplace has a chamfered 4-centre
arch. A modern garage extension at the north-east corner in keeping.
