8.7.52 (The White House)


1812. 2 storeys, 2.1.2 windows. Symmetrical facade with slightly projecting
centre. Hipped slate roof, moulded eaves with wide soffit. Stucco walling,
stone cills, plinth. Sashes in reveals. Greek Doric porch on stone steps with
fluted columns, pilasters, architraves, square fanlight having diagonal and
square patterns, 6-panelled door. Low boundary wall with stone coping (hedge
replacing rails) curving inwards at east end to finish as a gateway, flanked
by red brick piers, stone-capped with one retaining acorn top. Interior has
a staircase and good fireplace.
