5238 The Arcade

Shopping arcade. 1898. Red brick with slate, glass and wooden roofs. Two storey
three bay entrances to Victoria Road and Wellington Street joined by an arcade of
single storey shops with glass roofs on wooden trusses. Top glass now replaced by
corrugated transparent plastic but original coloured glass in vertical lights below.
Some original shop fronts survive.
