C16, C17, C18 early C19. Two-storeyed terrace, with internal timber-framing of varied
survival, and external brick walling of C18, early C19 period. Tile roof, hipped at
the corner; there is a large stack with a Tuder base (including the base of an
octagonal flue) and 3 modern diagonal flues. Walling of brickwork, of English bond
and also Flemish bond with blue headers, first floor band, rubbed flat arches and one
cambered arch, plinth. A mixture of sash windows, C18 early C19, and modern. The
main doorway (C18) has a moulded canopy with panelled soffit, carved brackets above
panelled pilasters and a plain fanlight, with a later addition of slender Gothic
columns (of wrought-iron). The east side has a shop-front. Within, the west end is
2-bay timber-frame still gabled to the rear, and the massive stack was attached to its
north side; on the first-floor there is a stone Tuder fireplace with a moulded
4-centred arch. The street elevation shows several minor changes, and the interior is
modernised.
