Listing Text

Southwood Farmhouse


Early C19. Symmetrical south-east front of 2 storeys and attic, 3 windows. Tile roof,
with 2 hipped-roofed dormers. Red brick walling in Flemish bond, first-floor band,
rubbed flat arches, plinth. Casements to the upper floors, wide sashes to the
ground-floor. Doorway is a moulded architrave, enclosing a decorative fanlight and a
modern glazed door. To the north side is a lower 2-storeyed wing and to the south side
a later one-storyed wing (dairy). The north-west elevation is of 3 storeys and attic,
1.1.1 window with similar features and a projecting centre, having at its base an
Edwardian porch.
