26.4.57 Church of St Nicholas

C12, 1847. The Norman aisleless nave and chancel has been refaced, but the chancel arch is original, with decorative outer moulding and cushion caps above inset columns. The west door is old but probably re-positioned. A 'restoration' tower is attached to the north-west corner, with a 'helm' roof. Externally, the roofing is in red tile, the walls of flint with stone dressings, all in a neo-Norman round-arched style.
