II

Late C17, early C19. Two-storeyed watermill (formerly the Old Basing Mill), extended and encased in the early C19. Old tile roof, 1/2-hipped at the south-east end. Timber-framed, clad in elm-boarding in the upper part, with exposed verticals in the lower part, now set in red brickwork of various ages and bonds; plinth at the lower east side. Small coupled modern casements. On the west side is an early C19 house of 2 storeys, 3 windows, with a gabled late C19 one-windowed block at the west end. Tile roofing, red brickwork in Flemish bond, some rubbed flat arches. Sash windows. Open timber-framed porch with tile roof, having scalloped bands.
