C18. To the north of the mansion and across the full width of the forecourt is a
curving symmetrically-arranged wrought iron screen or rail, the central part being
extended further outward to join the equestrian statue of George I. At regular
intervals the rails have scroll-panelled
standards, raised to higher level (to support a lamp bracket) near the 2 outer
gateways.
