WINSLADE,
HACKWOOD PARK,
Bridge to artificial lake

26.04.57

II

Early C19. Three-arched bridge, with low cambered arches resting on battered piers,
with side buttresses, and retaining walls. A slightly-projecting band is continuous
below the parapet, which has a capping above a single cavetto moulding. The parallel
parapets widen beyond the arches, and end by an angled terminal section, finishing on a circular pier.
Stucco exterior to brick structure. Within the arches is a retaining
wall, giving a deeper north elevation, and at one time a south-side reflection in an
artificial lake.
