Late C18, C20. Originally a symmetrical 2-storeyed design, of a square block with
octagons at each corner; now neatly extended with a modern 2-storeyed unit on the west
side. Pyramid slate roof, with slate above the new wing, coved plastered eaves above
each central wall, vertical brick fascia above the octagons. Red brick walling in
Flemish bond, stone cills, rubbed flat arches, moulded stone first-floor band, plinth.
Casements, blank panels to the inner faces of the octagons. The doorway (facing the
opposite lodge) has a 6-panelled door beneath a stone slab pediment (with a moulded
edge) resting on stone carved brackets. One of a pair of lodges flanking the
roadway with Daisy Cottage.
