House, later 2 cottages now in one ownership. Late C16 timber-framed
building refronted in early C19 and refenestrated in mid C20. Exterior
stuccoed with lines to imitate masonry. Wooden bressumer. Old tiled
roof with catslide to rear and tall original brick chimney stack to
rear. 2 storeys 3 bays with chimney to rear. Mainly 1930's metal
framed casements except for ground floor right which has early to mid
C19 shopfront with cornice, pilasters and 6 panels. No 22 has C20
door. No 24 has 4 panelled door. End left room, originally parlour has
chamfered spine beam and similar floor joists with lambs tongue stops.
Central room has large open fireplace with chamfered beam with lambs
tongue stop, salt niche and bread oven. Curved brick chimney breast.
Spine beam chamfered with moulded post. Floor joists are chamfered
with run out stops. 1st floor has exposed box frame with midrail and
some curved and some straight tension braces. Through purlin roof with
queen posts and curved windbraces. Outshut probably early C18.
