4/46 Forton Cottage


House. Early C18, with C20 extensions. Brick, with a tile roof.
Symmetrical front (south-east) of 2 storeys, 4 windows. Hipped roof,
with catslide to C20 rear outshot. Front wall of Flemish bond with
vertical blue diaper patterns, 2 buttresses, cambered ground floor openings:
the south west end wall has flint panels (and altered details), the
north-east end wall has exposed bricknogged timber-framing in its upper
part. Leaded casements. ½-glazed door within an open gabled porch, on
tree-post supports.
