Cottage. Mid C18. 2 bay cottage of flint with brick lacing courses and dressings
now painted and partially roughcast to front. Half-hipped thatched roof forming
eyebrows and dormers. Frame of thin scantling exposed in gable end. C19 outshot
with slate roof to left part. Attic storey has 2 trapezoid shaped windows with C19
casements. Ground floor has cambered heads and replaced windows similar to original
casements. Right side plank door with gabled weather hood. Twisted brick chimneystack
below ridge. Interior entrance on C18 straight flight wooden staircase with newel
post having acorn finial of rare rustic type.
Included as an unaltered example of a vernacular type.
