SU 24 SE GRATELEY GRATELEY

Primary school. Early C19, late C19, and C20. Rendered walls and hipped slate
roof. The old part is a simple rectangular block with (on the east elevation) a
central doorway and 2 windows on each side; those at the north side being sashes
in reveals and those at the south of the late C19, being casements of a style used
in the later extensions. The tall doorway has a flattened Gothic arch with a
traceried fanlight (with coloured glass) above a 6-panelled door. Late C19
additions at the rear are in the same style and there are further c20) smaller
extensions, each of different style and materials.
