2/26 Forecourt wall &
piers to the
Memorial Hall

GV II

Roadside boundary, incomplete. 1817, and C20. The original axial entrance is
flanked by 2 C20 brick (replaced) piers with old stone moulded caps. To the east
of the east pier there is a low wall supporting a simple wrought-iron rail, as far
as another pier, which has brickwork with 2 rusticated bands of projecting flints
and a moulded stone cap. The east side of this pier is connected to a high wall,
with tile capping, rendered panels (on cob), with brick verticals and plinth band
ania flint base.
