7/26 The Orchards

House. Early C19. Render and slate. Square building of simple exterior:
symmetrical south elevation of 2 storeys, 5 above 2 windows. Hipped roof:
plain walls and plinth. Sashes, of 3 lights to the ground-floor, the upper
east side window being a casement. The east (entrance) elevation is symmetri-
cal, of 3 windows, similar features. Sashes, of 3 lights to the ground-floor,
the south side openings being filled. Open porch of a very simple Order of 2
columns, the door having 4 Panels below a top panel glazed as a fanlight. The
north elevation has flint walling with brick dressings and chimney, all now
painted. Inside, there remains the original plain staircase.
