Steps to Rendezvous 1901-5 by E L Lutyens. Stone with knapped flint. Plan of
3 sided small enclosure with semi-circular steps rising to narrow opening in N
wall and then radiating upwards and outwards onto viewing platform. On one side,
at end of walk above moat in front of house, 2 tall square piers of 3.5m high with
moulded cornice and obelisk finial, no parapet between. On other side balustraded
parapet. Set in lower part of wall both sides oval niche at bottom console corbel.
End wall has square pier near each corner rising 0.5m above balustraded parapet.
Between piers parapet descends from each side to short piers either side of
opening for steps.
