5/6 Thornegate


House. C18 house with a double-pile roof, and early C19 rear wing, forming a
T-shape, with C20 minor extensions. Walls of painted brickwork, in Header,
English and Monk bonds, cambered ground-floor openings, brick dentil eaves.
Tile roof. North elevation (once symmetrical) of two storeys, three windows,
with east side single-storeyed extension, of two windows. Sashes, middle
panel with painted window, the former doorway now a window (off-centre).
Other elevations irregular, with casement, the rear wing having a plain doorway
with a gabled hood on posts.
