C18. Painted brick the southernmost bay recessed, stringcourse at 1st floor and
eaves band interrupted at south side by the insertion of longer sashes. Hipped
tiled roof. 2 storeys, 5 windows, glazing bars generally intact. Doorway with
pilasters, pediment, panelled reveals and rectangular fanlight. Door of 6 moulded
and fielded panels. Double carriageway doors beneath recessed window bay. (N.M.R.]
All the listed buildings on High Street and Union Street, with the listed street
lamps form a group, together with Nos 1 and 2 and the Parish Church of St Peter
and St Paul, Church Place and with the Red Lion Hotel and No 10 East Street. (No
45, High Street is of local interest).
