2 storeys plus attic; 13 bays wide, the central one advanced and pedimented. Within
an oval in the pediment, the inscription 'Alton Workhouse erected 1793'. Red brick;
slate mansard roof. Ground floor with central pedimented doorcase with 6 recessed
sash windows either side. 1st floor with 13 recessed sash windows. Brick dentil
cornice. 4 dormer windows either side of the pediment. From road to entrance
a narrow path planted with box and laurels.
