Mid-C18 facade to earlier building. 3 storeys; 6 bays wide. Vitreous and red
brick. Ground floor with central recessed door with fanlight of somewhat unusual
pattern, approached up 4 stone steps with wrought-iron rails and within a pedimented
doorcase and flanked on either side by a single Palladian-type window; later arched
opening on the left. Band at 1st floor level. 1st floor with 6 flush segment-headed
windows. Band above 2nd floor windows. Parapet.

The Crown Hotel and Nos 4 to 10 (even) together with No 1 on the opposite side
form a group.
