Probably C17-C18. Altered in early C19. 2 storeys; 5 bays. Rendered brick;
old tile roof. Ground floor with window, C19 door within modern glazed porch
and 2 more windows. Moulded brick band at 1st floor level. 1st floor with 5
windows. All windows C19, mullioned and with probably earlier brick hood moulds
over. To the left, an early C19 extension, now known as 'Roselle'. 2 storeys;
2 bays. Colour-washed brick; tiled roof. Ground floor with, on the left, a single
sash window with Gothic arched glazing and, on the right, a modern door within
trellis porch and another small window. This house links up with No 33 (Lenten
Cottage).

No 31 (The Old House) and Roselle and No 33 (Lenten Cottage) form a group.
