SU 63 NE BENTWORTH HIGH STREET

7/5 Manor Lodge

GV II

House, Early C19. Painted brick, with a tile roof. Symmetrical front (north-
east) of 2 storeys, 3 windows. Hipped roof. Walls of Flemish bond, with
rubbed flat arches, and plinth. Sashes in reveals; a C20 rectangular bay to
the north side ground floor, with casements. Greek Doric porch of 2 pilasters
2 columns, with simplified entablature and fluted columns, with a plain doorway
having a 6 panelled (2 top-lit) door. The rear elevation is also symmetrical
with wider ground-floor 3-light sashes beneath cambered openings, and a plain
doorway with a decorative fanlight. To the north end is a low 2-storeyed
service wing, with a hipped slate roof.
