2/1 Hill Farmhouse


House. C17 and early C19. Brick and tile. Timber-framed structure with
cladding and rear extension of the early C19; front (east) of 2 storeys, 2.1
windows. The roof has a hip above the north-side projecting unit, brick
dentil eaves, Victoria Tudor stack with diagonal flues. Walls of red brickwork
in Flemish bond, with cambered rubbed arches with flat extrados, plinth. Leaded
3-light casements. Plain doorway, with canopy on carved brackets and 6-panelled
door. Lead fire-insurance sign. The rear wing at the south side has vernacular
features, the gable (south end of the front) being tile-hung in its upper part.
Inside there is some C17 panelling.
