SU 74 SE BENTLEY A31 MAIN ROAD

GV II

House. Late C18, with C20 restoration as a dwelling. Stone walls and tile
roof. A former barn; front (south) of 1 storey and attic, 4 windows. A bay
further to the west has a lower roof with a hipped end, and there are 4 dormers
with hipped roofs. Walls of malmstone ashlar, plinth, C20 openings. Casements.
The doorway is formed as a deep semi-circular recess, with stone walling, and
central door. The rear is less regular in fenestration, and the walls have
indications of former openings, including hayloft doors. Note : the building
is set back in relation to the adjoining Tanners, and extends behind Tanners.
