Small mansion. Early C19, altered and extended in the mid. C19. Stucco walls
and slate roof. Almost a cube, of classical form and details; symmetrical front
(south) of 3 storeys, 1.3.1 windows to the 2nd floor, replaced below by 2 storeyed
widely splayed bays (of 3 windows) at each side, with a central 1st floor window
and former entrance now filled. Low-pitched hipped roof. Shallow parapet thin
cornice, raised above the slightly-projecting centrepiece as a pediment, end
shallow pilasters, bands at 1st and 2nd floor, plinth; the Victorian bays have
parapet, cornice, bands, plinth, cambered heads, and thin architraves. Sashes in
reveals. The east elevation is of 4 bays (former windows now plastered), sashes
in reveals, a porch at the 3rd bay (probably from the front) has a full Doric
Order, with 2 plain columns and pilasters, panelled reveals, and 6-panelled door.
The west elevation is plain, with a wide 3-storeyed bay at the north side, of 1
window (French to ground floor) and there is another French window. To the rear
are mid C19, service blocks of different dates, now showing 2 gables (of 2 storeys
and attic and 2 storeys). Inside, there are features of late Regency and early
Victorian style, and indications of substantial changes of the interior lay-out.
