5/3 Stables, 20 metres north
of Northbrook.

GV II

Stables and coachhouse. Early C19. Brick structure, with a stuccoed front,
with a slate roof. Symmetrical front (south-east) with a 2 storeyed (slightly-
projecting) centrepiece, having 3 windows above 2 cambered carriage openings;
on each side is a symmetrical arrangement of stable door flanked by lunette
windows. Hipped roof to the lower wings, the centre having a gable/pediment
and a cupola, open frame with plasters and moulded base, above vertical boarding.
Plain walls, with projecting panels above the wing openings, a circular (clock)
panel in the pediment, arched openings, plinth. Casements, made deeper on the
inner (west side) light. The east side is altered by the formation of a
recessed doorway in the inner arched opening, above which is a ½ dormer with a
gabled roof.
