SU 74 SE BENTLEY A31 MAIN ROAD

4/31 Somerset Cottages, No. 1

GV II

Cottage, attached to No. 2. C16, C17, C18, with C20 rear extension. Exterior
of brick, with a tile roof. A late-medieval cruck-built timber-framed hall,
with insertion of massive chimney breast and upper floor; front (south) of 1
storey and attic, 2 windows. Roof ½-hipped at the west end, 2 gabled dormers.
Walls of red brickwork in Flemish bond, with Monk bond to the south gable,
beneath tile-hanging: cemented plinth. Casements. Boarded door in a plain
frame.
