Description

SU 74 SE BINSTED THE STREET

4/73 Barn and Stable 40 yards
East of Kings Farmhouse

GV II

Barn at right angles to the roadway, with adjoining stable parallel to the road-
way. Mainly C18, with C20 restoration. The roadside elevation shows the ½-hipped
roof of the barn, and the lower roof of the stable, both of tile (the other roof-
ing of the barn being of corrugated asbestos). The boarded walls rest on a deep
basement of brickwork and malmstone. The interior timber-framing is said to
indicate an origin as a medieval house.
