SU 83 NE GRAYSHOTT WHITMORE VALE ROAD

9/5 Bowes Cottage

Cottage. C18, early C19, with C20 extension and restoration. Mixed walling
materials, and a tiled roof. Front (south-west) of 2 storeys, 2 windows.
Hipped roof. Timber-frame exposed in the upper part with stone and brick infill,
the lower walls of stone with brick quoins, all now painted. Casements. Gabled
C20 porch. The south-east end has a massive tapered stack, and the north-west
an outshot, with a boarded ½-gable above stone walling. To the rear is an
extension of the C20, in similar style.
