No. 2 Farmhouse


House. Early C17, and early C20. Brick and tile. A tall east-west block, with
a lower north side wing; 2 storeys and attic, 1 window to the gabled elevations,
and 1 storey and attic, with irregular fenestration. Plain roof. The upper walls
have exposure of a massive timber-frame, with brick infilling (some C20 herring-
bone), the ground floor, is C20 brickwork above a cement plinth. The feature of
the building comprises 2 massive tapered stacks on the south elevation, with
shafted flues, offsets, plinth, and blue diaper patterns. C20 casements. Plain
doorway. The north extension has a tile roof, some tile hanging of upper walls
brick walls, casements, all in the vernacular of C1900.
