The Old Mill

Millhouse to adjoining (now-demolished) mill. Early C19 and C20. Stone and tile.
Symmetrical front (east) of 3 storeys, 3 windows (with 2 windows south of the
porch, centred on those above). Plain roof, flat over C20 rear part. Walls of
coursed stone with galletted joints, brick dressings; quoins, cambered arches,
1st and 2nd floor bands, plinth. Sashes in reveals. Stucco porch, with simplied
Doric order, open pediment, fluted pilasters, arched opening, decorative fanlight
above ½-glazed doors. A stone plaque above the porch has its inscription obliter-
ated. To the south, there are the lower walls of the former mill, with a cut-water
from a dam.
