GV II*

Hall-house, later 3 cottages, now house. Stone and tile. C14, C15, C17, later
C18, with minor C20 details. A 4-bay medieval timber-framed hall, with fireplaces
(C15) to the 2-storeyed south end, a smoke-bay filled with a massive C17 chimney
a small 2 storeyed extension (C18) at the rear, recladding of the early C19, and
a C20 rear outshot. Front (east) of 2 storeys, 4 windows. Hipped roof, with
gablets at each end. The 1st floor is tile-hung, tilted above a brick dentil 1st
floor band, the ground-floor has rubble stonework with brick quoins, showing a
filled doorway. Central doorway with ½-glazed door beneath a gabled caopy,
another ½-glazed door (north side) remains, but is unused. The north elevation
has exposed bricknogged framing, with large curved braces, and a slightly-lower
wing of brickwork; the south end is tile-hung in the 1st floor. Inside, the
massive framing is exposed, with moulded beams; there is a C15 Perpendicular stone
fireplace to the ground-floor, and a plainer one above, and massive bressumers to
the C17 chimney breast.
